Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was extensively used in building materials due to its strength and heat resistance. Regulations started in the 1980s and now affect all commercial property owners and schools. Exposure to asbestos cause lung diseases.

NESHAP SERVICES

We provide the asbestos inspections required to renovate and demolish any commercial buildings or residential building if future will be commercial. The National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) is regulated by the U.S. EPA and state governments. Certain asbestos materials must be removed prior to demolition or renovations. There are notifications required so please plan accordingly.

AHERA SERVICES

AHERA regulates asbestos in K-12 schools, both public and private. All schools with asbestos must be inspected by a certified individual every three years and must be surveyed every 6 months by a qualified individual.

OSHA SERVICES

Even if you are not a school, or a commercial building being renovated or demolished, OSHA says that a commercial building still needs to know where the asbestos is in the building so the workers can be adequately informed.  VEC conducts OSHA asbestos surveys and provides the necessary training for the staff.

Villa Environmental Consultants has certified asbestos inspectors, project designers, and managers to assist you with your project or school district, please contact Rick Villa for more details.
